Megan McDowell Named Cheerleading Head Coach

Patriots Athletics ishappy to announce Coach Megan McDowell as the new Head Coach of the Cheerleading Program at The John Carroll School. With more than 15 years of experience in education, Coach McDowell brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership and passion to the team.

Last winter, she served as an assistant coach for the Patriots and is eager to build on that experience to create a strong, disciplined and competitive Cheerleading Program.

Her coaching philosophy centers on developing student-athletes by fostering leadership, accountability, discipline, teamwork and character. She’s passionate about cultivating a positive culture that promotes school spirit while empowering athletes to become confident leaders within the School and greater community.

Coach McDowell is married to Shane McDowell, who serves as a coach on the Patriots JV Football Team. Together, they are dedicated supporters of Patriots Athletics and student-athlete development. They are the proud parents of Elijah Mulligan '29, and future Patriot Carson.

Looking ahead, I am thrilled to work alongside the coaching staff and student-athletes this fall to continue building the Cheerleading Program at John Carroll."
