The School is pleased to announce that Mr. Ron Coursey has joined the John Carroll team as our new Director of Athletics. Mr. Coursey will lead all aspects of our Athletics Department including coach mentoring, programming, operations and community engagement. He is responsible for the continued development of our positive Patriots Athletics experience and our highly competitive programs in which 86% of our students compete in at least one interscholastic sport.

Mr. Coursey has extensive experience leading broad areas of athletics at the scholastic, community and district levels. He most recently served as Athletic Director for the York Suburban School District in Pennsylvania, where he led one of the region’s most dynamic and participative athletic programs. His prior leadership roles included the Chambersburg Area School District, Woodland Hills School District and School District of the City of York.

Throughout his career, Mr. Coursey has successfully overseen complex athletic operations while creating high-profile showcase events recognized for promoting unity, sportsmanship and the positive social impact of athletics. He remains active in youth mentoring and AAU basketball, consistently demonstrating a passion for empowering student-athletes and fostering excellence on and off the field.

A former student-athlete on the Carnegie Mellon University basketball team, Mr. Coursey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and holds both a Master of Education and a Master of Business Administration from Frostburg State University. He has also achieved the Certificate of Athletic Administration and National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Certification.

Reflecting on his new role, Mr. Coursey shared: "I am honored and humbled to lead the Patriots Athletics Department. Joining the John Carroll team is both a professional and personal milestone, and I am eager to help foster a faith-based environment where students can grow as athletes and leaders."
