Archbishop John Carroll Scholarship Program

AP Capstone
John Carroll was approved to offer the AP Capstone Diploma school starting in the Fall of 2018–the first Catholic School in the state to earn this right from the College Board. The AP Capstone Diploma is a uniquely distinguished program that allows for our best and brightest Patriots to participate in one of the most rigorous academic endeavors available.

Computer Science
The Computer Science Department, located in our new Innovation Center, provides students the opportunity to develop 21st century skills in Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence with Data Analytics, Java Programming, and two Advanced Placement Computer Science classes. Using state of the art equipment, students will garner knowledge and skills that will accelerate our Patriots through an IT world with infinite opportunities.

College Preparatory Dance Program
The John Carroll School offers a four-year college preparatory dance program as part of the school curriculum. The program offers superb conservatory level training in an academic setting. Classes are held five days a week from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and include Ballet, Modern and Contemporary Dance Technique, as well as studies in Dance Science, Dance History and Composition. Pointe is held on Ballet days from 4:30-5:00 p.m. Each class is graded and included in tuition for John Carroll students.

St. Joseph Program
The John Carroll School has always supported students with documented learning differences. In 2015, the St. Joseph Program was formalized to meet the growing needs of these students. We recognize that each student has a unique approach to learning fostered by individual learning styles and previous experiences, and that all students can succeed if provided with the appropriate support and necessary accommodations.

Senior Project
Senior Project is a mandatory graduation requirement at John Carroll. Seniors are required to develop, implement, and then present for evaluation an independent project, during which they complete a minimum of thirty hours of field experience. Field work may begin prior to senior year and be completed throughout the school year and/or during a two-week period in May between exams and project evaluation presentations.

Fine Arts Diploma with Distinction
Seeking to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art, The John Carroll School has created the Fine Arts Diploma with Distinction. This diploma recognizes the accomplishments of students who make a commitment to pursuing the Fine Arts throughout their high school experience.

Diploma with Distinction in Science
Highly motivated science students at John Carroll are eligible to apply for the Diploma with Distinction in Science. Students should indicate their interest in working toward this special diploma by contacting the Science Department Chair for an application no later than the end of the first semester of their junior year. Students who are considered to pursue the diploma will be monitored during their senior year and must choose a science-related Senior Project that is approved by the Chair. STEAM students are also eligible to earn this special diploma.
