Processing Applications & Transcripts

All college application materials are processed through the Guidance Office. Colleges expect official transcripts and supporting documentation to be mailed directly from the Guidance Office to the College Admissions Office. To send official transcripts to colleges, the Release of Records Form needs to be completed and turned in to Guidance.

When applying to colleges online, the Online Application Processing Form needs to be completed and turned into Guidance before submitting an online application. This form ensures that a transcript will be sent. When applying to Towson University online, there is a separate Towson Online Application Processing Form that must be completed and turned in to Guidance.

Occasionally a college or coach will ask for a hand carried transcript which a student or family may transport on a visit or interview. This procedure would be an exception to conventional policy of mailing transcripts directly to colleges or scholarship sponsors. Students and families may have unofficial transcripts with which to visit colleges; an official transcript will always be mailed to the College Admissions Office from the Guidance Office at the time of the application.
